You don't have to spend heaps of money on the wedding gift - they
will after all be getting presents from many other people and you do have
to consider other expenses like clothing and travel. There are plenty of

They'll definitely need somewhere to put all of those memories, so
these make great practical gifts. You could also give the couple a frame
containing a photo of themselves or if you're crafty, a scrapbook or
photo album of
memories and poetry.
- Homewares - Chances are they've already lived
together and even if they haven't they've probably been living
on their own a while. Which means they'll more than likely have many homewares
already. But if you can talk to those in know (parents, siblings,
friends), you can find out what they might be missing and what
might need updating.
- Wine - Practical, sure, but it also makes an
inexpensive, meaningful present. Buy a really nice bottle of wine and
attach a note to it saying: "To be opened in 10 years time".
- Decor - Candles will be needed
for all those romantic dinners at home the newlyweds will be having. If you have an artistic bent, paint a
picture or make a collage and get it framed.
- Help them out - This one you have to be careful
with because they might already have this sorted out. But you can
offer to help out during the wedding by taking the wedding
photos, doing the wedding video, playing chauffeur, cooking the
food, etc. Be graceful if they say no and know that there are plenty
of other personal gifts you can give them.
